Get ready for the first music festival at Bethany!
On Friday 14th September, our Year 13 BTEC Music Performance group are making Bethany history by hosting our very first music festival entitled “Equinox Festival”, on the school grounds. The event is being organised as part of one of their units of work and they have been given the task of organising and promoting a live music event of their choice.
The pupils have decided that they needed to plan something that no one at Bethany had ever seen before. As we host a whole range of fantastic events at Bethany throughout the year, the idea of doing something different that would appeal to pupils, parents, and staff alike was something that really motivated the group; they want to deliver an event they would never forget. The idea for the event was to organise something for the start of term which would welcome everyone back to the new academic year whilst still holding onto those last few moments of summer.
The group, made up of Sixth Form pupils Natalie Whyte, James Clarke, Warwick Crewe-Brown, and Abbie Bristow, have been busy over the summer and the beginning of term booking live music acts to play, organising food and refreshments, arranging marketing and publicity, and many more jobs required to run a successful live music festival. On top of this, the group have been given the challenge of headlining the festival, so they have been busy rehearsing a set of songs that are worthy of the headline slot at what is looking to be a very popular festival.
The pupils have described Equinox Festival as being a “Music festival that is appropriate for pupils, parents, staff members, family, and friends alike”. The pupils said that: “We promise to deliver an event that has a good atmosphere, quality music, summer vibes, and a place for the whole family to enjoy themselves.”
Equinox Festival will be taking place on Friday 14th September at 6pm on the Headmaster’s lawn at Bethany School. Tickets are £3 and can be bought from the School Office or the Music School.
